As an alternative to my early normal morning coffee, I started a new routine, part of which is hot water and lemon. I squeeze a half a lemon and include some of the fibre of the fruit and top up with hot water. I normally do the squeezing the night before and leave the glass ready to be topped up with hot water. TOP TIP Drink through a straw to protect your teeth. I use Bamboo straws I bought on a visit to Altrincham Market but Ebay is hard to beat for non plastic options.
WOW, I used to hate the sight, touch and smell of the deep purple roots of beetroot. I don't know why - maybe it was the way it bled on the plate or maybe my only experience having been the pickled stuff just wasn't the best of all experiences. What changed it all for me was when I saw 3 big dirty roots of beetroot in my organic veg box. I didn't want to waste them and asked some friends for any recipe ideas.
